Journal of Social Research, Education and Learning (JSREL) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to publishing original and high-quality research in the fields of social research, education, teaching, and learning. The journal provides an interdisciplinary scholarly platform for researchers, educators, practitioners, and policymakers and aims to contribute to the development and international dissemination of knowledge across the social and educational sciences.

JSREL focuses on the interaction between social research, educational sciences, learning processes, educational psychology, curriculum and instruction, teacher education, educational technology, and contemporary approaches to teaching and learning. The journal welcomes both theoretical and empirical studies and particularly encourages interdisciplinary research examining educational and social phenomena from multiple perspectives.

JSREL recognizes that education and learning are shaped by a broad range of social, cultural, psychological, technological, economic, and institutional factors. Accordingly, the journal encourages studies addressing these relationships through rigorous quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, systematic review, meta-analysis, theoretical, historical, and comparative research designs.

The primary purpose of JSREL is to contribute to international scholarly knowledge by publishing methodologically rigorous, theoretically grounded, innovative, and socially relevant research. The journal also seeks to strengthen connections among research, educational practice, social development, and policy.

Purpose of the Journal of Social Research, Education and Learning:

• To publish high-quality and original international research in social sciences, education, and learning,
• To support interdisciplinary dialogue among education, psychology, sociology, technology, and related social science disciplines,
• To disseminate innovative research findings to researchers, educators, practitioners, policymakers, and broader communities,

JSREL Article Evaluation Process

The Journal of Social Research, Education and Learning (JSREL) adopts a rigorous and transparent peer-review process to ensure scientific quality, academic integrity, methodological rigor, and reliability. Every manuscript submitted to JSREL is evaluated in accordance with principles of impartiality, confidentiality, transparency, and research ethics.

1. Article Submission and Preliminary Review

Manuscripts are submitted through the JSREL online submission system. All submissions are initially screened by the editor.

• Scope and Content Suitability: The manuscript is evaluated in terms of its relevance to the aims and scope of JSREL.
• Academic and Language Quality: Manuscripts are expected to demonstrate clear academic writing and comply with internationally recognized scholarly writing standards, including APA 7 where applicable.
• Ethical Screening: Manuscripts are evaluated for compliance with publication ethics, research ethics, authorship principles, and academic integrity.
• Similarity Screening: Manuscripts may be examined using recognized similarity detection software before being sent for peer review.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review Process

JSREL applies a double-blind peer-review model, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from one another during the evaluation process.

• Reviewer Selection: Normally, at least two independent experts are invited to evaluate each manuscript.
• Reviewer Evaluation: Reviewers examine the manuscript in terms of originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, ethical appropriateness, analysis, interpretation, academic presentation, and contribution to the literature.
• Evaluation Criteria: Originality, Scientific Contribution, Theoretical Framework, Methodological Quality, Data Analysis, Interpretation of Findings, Academic Writing, and Overall Contribution.
• Reviewer Recommendations: Reviewers may recommend acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.

3. Editorial Decision

After receiving the reviewer reports, the editor evaluates the reports together with the manuscript and makes the final editorial decision.

• Accept: The manuscript meets the scientific and editorial standards of JSREL.
• Minor/Major Revision: Authors are requested to revise the manuscript according to reviewer and editor comments.
• Reject: The manuscript is rejected if it does not meet the scientific, methodological, ethical, or editorial standards of the journal.

4. Rights and Responsibilities

Authors: Authors are responsible for the originality, accuracy, ethical integrity, and transparency of their work.

Reviewers: Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, confidential, and timely evaluations and disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

Editor: The editor is responsible for ensuring fairness, confidentiality, academic independence, and integrity throughout the evaluation process.

Journal of Social Research, Education and Learning (JSREL) adopts an open-access publishing model to support the unrestricted dissemination and accessibility of scholarly knowledge worldwide.

Open Access Model

• Free Access: All articles published in JSREL are freely available to readers immediately upon publication.
• No Paywall for Readers: Readers can access, read, download, and share published research without subscription barriers.
• Global Dissemination: Open access increases the international visibility and potential social and academic impact of published research.
• Persistent Identification: Published articles may be assigned persistent digital identifiers such as DOI to support permanent identification and citation.

Through its open-access policy, JSREL seeks to facilitate equitable access to scholarly knowledge for researchers, students, teachers, educational practitioners, policymakers, and interested readers worldwide.

Digital Archiving and Preservation

• PKP Preservation Infrastructure: Where enabled within the journal's OJS infrastructure, digital preservation services supported by the Public Knowledge Project may be used to preserve published content.
• Institutional and Digital Repositories: Authors may deposit published articles in institutional repositories, academic networks, personal scholarly websites, and other appropriate archives in accordance with the journal's copyright policy.
• Persistent Identification: DOI and other persistent identifiers, where assigned, support long-term discoverability and access.

Post-Publication Content Integrity

Corrections, retractions, and other post-publication updates are transparently identified and linked to the original scholarly record to preserve the integrity of the academic literature.

• Article Submission: No fee is charged for submitting a manuscript to JSREL.
• Peer Review: No fee is charged for the peer-review and editorial evaluation process.

Any publication-related fees or optional editorial services, if applicable, are communicated transparently to authors before the relevant service is provided. No undisclosed fee is requested from authors during the editorial process.

Journal of Social Research, Education and Learning (JSREL) is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, transparency, and responsible research conduct. The journal's ethical principles are informed by internationally recognized publication ethics standards, including guidance provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Authors' Responsibilities

• Authors must submit original work and appropriately acknowledge all sources.
• Plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, manipulated data, and academic misconduct are unacceptable.

Editor's Responsibilities

• The editor makes decisions based on academic merit, methodological quality, originality, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal.
• Manuscripts are evaluated without discrimination based on irrelevant personal or institutional characteristics.
• The editor protects confidential manuscript and reviewer information.
• Suspected ethical violations are evaluated carefully and appropriate editorial action is taken where necessary.

JSREL is committed to originality, appropriate attribution, and academic integrity. Submitted manuscripts may be screened using recognized similarity detection software.

Plagiarism includes presenting another person's words, ideas, data, methods, figures, or intellectual contributions without appropriate acknowledgement. JSREL also evaluates concerns relating to self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate paraphrasing, citation manipulation, and data manipulation.

Similarity reports are interpreted by the editor in context rather than being evaluated solely on the basis of a numerical percentage. Where inappropriate textual overlap is identified, authors may be asked to revise the manuscript. Manuscripts involving substantial plagiarism or serious academic misconduct may be rejected.

Transparency: Authors should disclose material use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in manuscript preparation, analysis, translation, visualization, or related scholarly processes.

Authorship: Artificial intelligence systems cannot be listed as authors. Human authors remain fully responsible for all manuscript content.

Accuracy: Authors must independently verify AI-generated information, citations, statistical interpretations, and factual claims.

Confidentiality: Reviewers and the editor must protect manuscript confidentiality and must not upload confidential unpublished content to external AI services where confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.

Ethical Violations: Inappropriate AI use resulting in fabricated data, invented references, plagiarism, manipulated findings, or other forms of misconduct may result in rejection, correction, retraction, or other editorial action.

JSREL is committed to preserving the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. Corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions may be issued when necessary.

• Retraction may be considered where findings are unreliable because of major error, fabrication, or falsification.
• Substantial plagiarism is identified.
• The article reports unethical research.
• The article has been published elsewhere without appropriate justification.
• Serious authorship or ethical violations compromise the reliability of the publication.

Retraction and correction notices clearly identify the affected article and explain the reason for editorial action. Retracted articles remain identifiable within the scholarly record and are clearly marked as retracted.

JSREL is committed to transparent, professional, and reliable communication throughout the editorial and publication process.

• Authors: Authors are informed of important editorial decisions and required actions throughout the evaluation process.
• Reviewers: Reviewers receive appropriate guidance regarding evaluation criteria, confidentiality, ethics, and conflicts of interest.
• Readers: Readers may contact the journal regarding published content, corrections, ethical concerns, and other scholarly matters.

Authors and other stakeholders may submit reasoned complaints or appeals concerning editorial decisions, publication ethics, or journal procedures.

Publisher Responsibilities: The publisher supports editorial independence, transparency, accessibility, publication continuity, copyright protection, ethical publishing, and long-term preservation of the scholarly record.

Editor Responsibilities: The editor is responsible for academic quality, impartial decision-making, confidentiality, peer-review management, conflicts of interest, and appropriate responses to ethical concerns.

Reviewer Responsibilities: Reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts objectively, confidentially, constructively, and within the agreed timeframe.

Author Responsibilities: Authors are responsible for originality, methodological integrity, accurate reporting, appropriate citation, valid authorship, ethical approval where required, conflict-of-interest disclosure, and research transparency.

JSREL is committed to protecting personal information and confidential editorial data in accordance with applicable data-protection principles and regulations.

Names, email addresses, institutional affiliations, ORCID identifiers, and other information entered into the journal system are used exclusively for legitimate editorial, scholarly communication, indexing, and publication purposes.

Submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. The editor and reviewers must not disclose manuscript content or confidential information to unauthorized individuals.

Authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Social Research, Education and Learning (JSREL) are required to prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the following guidelines:

• Language: Manuscripts may be written in Turkish or English. Manuscripts should be prepared in clear, professional, and academically appropriate language.
• Formatting and References: Manuscripts should follow the APA 7th Edition citation and reference style unless otherwise specified by the journal template.
• Anonymity: All identifying author information should be removed from the manuscript submitted for double-blind peer review.
• File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
• Structure: Empirical manuscripts should normally include Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Declarations, and References.
• Ethics: Authors must provide ethics committee approval or an appropriate ethical statement where required.
• Conflict of Interest: Authors should disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
• Funding: Funding sources should be disclosed where applicable.
• Originality: Submitted manuscripts must be original and must not simultaneously be under consideration by another journal.
